Pottorff and Powder Coating
Pottorff uses powder coating to paint its louvers. Powder coat contains no solvents, has no VOC’s, requires less energy than other treatments, and produces less waste than wet paint. Powder coating’s environmental benefits may be further enhanced by using chrome-free pretreatment, eliminating chromates and other heavy metals from the waste and production streams.
Pottorff uses primary quality aluminum extrusions to produce our louvers. The quantities and types of content consumed are typically of the following proportions:
- 30% pre-consumer content
- 10% post-consumer content
- 60% primary aluminum
There are occasions when products from Pottorff may be produced from one hundred percent pre-consumer content and/or a combination of pre-consumer content and post-consumer content.
